Hothouse has a variety of display options; this is the wireframe drawing of the same oak.

The following alpha mapped images are of the five plant speces included with Hothouse; they were obtained by right clicking on the spece editor and selecting 'Save screen -> to file...'.

The leaves and bark have been laser scanned and this information is used by GPU shaders to produce normal and bump map images which are aligned with a photograph. Like this maple leaf (only bigger).
Texture maps

 

The material editor can be used to import your own images and make them tileable if required. It can also generate a normal map from a bump map and specular map from a normal map. The final resolution for both previewing and exporting can be controlled on Hothouse's preference pages.
